Florida Government Ron DeSantis Visited a Waffle House in Florida and served food to residents in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian.
DeSantis visits Waffle House Charlotte County, Floridaon Saturdays and helped the linemen serve food.
“[email protected] is one of the first restaurants in Charlotte County to reopen and provide hot food while working together to serve Floridians after the #HurricaneIan.” DeSantis said Twitter, “Thank you for providing food to the linemen working to restore power.”
Hurricane Ian made landfall near Cayo Costa, Florida on Wednesday afternoon as a Category 4 hurricane with sustained wind speeds of 155 mph, just 2 mph above Category 5.
Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said in a Facebook video on Saturday that there had been about 35 deaths across the county.
“It is with a heavy heart that I say that number,” Marceno said.
Ian made the second US landfall on Friday afternoon as a Category 1 hurricane near Georgetown, South Carolina.
President Biden Hurricane Ian said on Saturday that the devastation in Florida is likely to “rank the worst in the nation’s history.”
“We are starting to see the scale of devastation in Florida, which likely ranks among the worst in the nation’s history. Our hearts break for those whose lives have been devastated by this hurricane,” Biden said. we are with you. And we will stick to it as long as it takes time.”
