JEE Main 2022 Counselling
JEE Main Counselling process will be organised online by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) and CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board). Only All India Rank will be used for admission through CSAB and JoSAA into IITs/ NITs/ SFIs/ CFTIs, etc.
The centralised process of counselling/ seat allotment process will be organised from 12th September 2022 for all sessions. Candidates have to register for counselling through online mode. The procedure of counselling will include – online registration, payment of counselling fee & choice filling.
Complete schedule of counselling and other details will be released online on the website. Students will have to login using their details to check their allotment status. Also, the procedure of document verification will take place in which all the certificates and documents of the candidates will be verified.
Complete list of these essential documents/ certificates includes: –
- JEE Main Score card
- Date of birth proof (10th class mark sheet)
- Provisional seat allotment letter
- Registration-cum-locked choices for seat allotment
- Three passport size photographs (same as uploaded in the JEE Main application)
- Proof of seat acceptance fee payment
- Undertaking by the candidate
- 12th class performance check
- Photo ID card (issued by govt./last attended school/12th class admit card)

JEE Main 2022 Answer Key
Students can check answers of the JEE Main exam questions through answer key. JEE Main Answer key has been made available from 2nd July 2022 (1st session) & is available on 3rd August 2022 (2nd session) through online mode. The memory based (institutional) answer key has been released.
With the help of answer key students can calculate the probable marks obtained in JEE exams. Also, in case any candidate finds that answer key has any error then they can submit their objections with payment amount for each challenging option.
JEE Main 2022 Result
Candidates can check their JEE Main Result online on the website. To check the result students are provided an online link on 11th July 2022 (Session 1) & on 8th August 2022 (Session 2) which they have to submit their login details (roll number, date of birth, etc.) to view their result.
The results are compiled based on the answer key. Students must note that no re-evaluation or re-checking of result will be done.
JEE Main 2022 Scorecard
Students can download their JEE Main scorecard after the declaration of results. To download scorecard, candidates need to enter their login details. It has mentioned details of the candidates and his/ her performance in the entrance exam.
Students must keep their scorecard safely as it is an important document which will be required for their admission procedure.
JEE Main 2022 Rank List
Those candidates who successfully qualifies the entrance exam are called out in the JEE Main rank list. NTA publishes the rank list online on the website in the form of PDF. It mentions the name of the candidates, their category, rank obtained all over India and state-wise, etc.
Various states and their universities will also prepare their rank list in order to admit the candidates into the engineering institutions.
JEE Main 2022 Cut Off
For qualifying JEE Main, students must obtain cut off marks as prescribed by various institutions for admission. Only those candidates name are included in the merit list who are successful in obtaining the prescribed JEE Main cut off marks.
After this, students are eligible to appear for counselling and admission into participating institutions. Various renowned institutions like IITs, CFTIs, NITs releases cut off marks on the basis of which candidates are counted eligible for counselling process.

JEE Main 2022 Admit Card
Candidates can download JEE Main admit card from the website of NTA. It has been made available for download for 2nd session on the website few days before the examination on 22nd July 2022. Students can download hall ticket by entering their login details.
The admit card must be kept safely as it is an important document which will contain various details about the candidates and exam. Students must go through complete instructions mentioned on the hall ticket before appearing for the exam.

JEE Main 2022 Exam Pattern
Candidates must check complete JEE Main exam pattern in the below given section:
- Exam mode: JEE Main is held in online computer-based test mode. However, the drawing test of paper 2 is held in pen and paper mode.
- Papers: There are two papers in JEE Main – Paper I for B.E/ B.Tech and Paper II for B.Arch & B.Plan.
- Time Duration: Time of 3 hrs is provided to complete the paper. For PWD candidates 1 hour will be provided extra.
- Type of Questions: There are objective type of questions in the exam. The drawing paper will be subjective in nature.
- Language: JEE Main paper can be attempted by the students in various languages. These languages are – Hindi, English, Gujarati, Bengali, Assamese, Marathi, Odia, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Punjabi, Urdu and Telugu.
- Total Questions: There will be total 90 questions in Paper I (B.E/ B.Tech) and 82 questions in Paper IIA (B.Arch) and 105 questions in Paper IIB (B.Plan).
- Marks: Paper I (B.E/ B.Tech) will be of 300 marks ; Paper IIA (B.Arch) and Paper IIB (B.Plan) will be of total 400 marks.
- Marking Scheme: For every correct answer, 4 marks will be given. 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. From this year there will be negative marking also in Section B. -1 mark is deducted for each incorrect response. In section B, for each for each question enter the correct integer value of the answer using the mouse and the on-screen virtual numeric keypad in designated place to enter answer. The answer must be rounded off to the nearest integer.

JEE Main 2022 Application Form
Know complete details about JEE Main 2022 application form in the below given section:
- The registration process is being conducted for two sessions – Session 1 & 2.
- Students can register through online mode.
- For first session, registration was started from 1st March 2022. For second session, it has been started from 1st June 2022.
- Registration has been re-started for JEE Main (2nd session) from 11th July 2022. Candidates can apply and submit fee till 12th July 2022.
- Candidates while registering for exam must make sure they are eligible by going through complete eligibility criteria provided below.
- All the details provided during registration must be valid & authentic otherwise it might lead to rejection of form.
- This year, candidates cannot edit any incorrect details (if any) as authority will not provide any opportunity to edit details.
- Registration process consists of different steps – Online registration, fill the application form, upload images of photograph/ signature / documents, payment of application fee, etc.
- After registering successfully, students must take printout of application form and keep it safely for future reference.
Application Fee:
The application fee of JEE Main can be paid through online mode only. Offline mode payment is not available.

JEE Main 2022 Application Correction
The authority had opened the JEE Main application correction facility for JEE Main session 1. The correction facility was provided to make changes in the application form after the completion of registration process. Modifications are only allowed in the few details which are mentioned by the authority.
Earlier, the authority announced that no JEE Main correction window will open for modification. However, the authority after receiving numerous representations by the candidates opened the opportunity to edit/ modify details in the application. Correction is only allowed through online link provided on the website and no corrections sent by candidates through post/ fax/ whatsApp/ email/ by hand is entertained by NTA.
JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Students must check complete JEE Main Eligibility criteria provided in below given section before registering for the exam:
Age Criteria:
- There is no age limit criteria prescribed for the candidates for appearing in the exam.
- Irrespective of age, candidates who have passed their 12th (Intermediate) or its equivalent in 2020, 2021 or appearing in 2022 are eligible to apply.
- Students must note that they have to fulfill the age criteria as prescribed by the Institution they are taking admission.
General Eligibility:
- Indian Nationals/ International Applicants are eligible to apply.
- International applicants must obtain necessary marks which are prescribed by AIU to be eligible for JEE Main.
- There is no attempt limit prescribed to apply for JEE Main.
- Students applying for B.E/ B.Tech admission, must have passed with 5 subjects in 12th level – Mathematics & Physics as compulsory subjects along with Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology or any other technical vocational as optional subject.
- Students applying for B.Plan admission, must have passed 12th level with Mathematics as mandatory subject.
- Students applying for B.Arch admission, must have passed 12th level with Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry as mandatory subjects.
- Also, those having diploma are also eligible to apply. These students are eligible for admission in IITs only.
State of Eligibility:
- Candidates must fill the state code of eligibility during registration process. Students must choose the state code of eligibility from which they have qualified their Intermediate exam.
- Indian nationals who will pass 12th level from an institution situated abroad their state code of eligibility will be determined as per their mentioned permanent address of India given in the passport.
- It will not be dependent on the residence or native place of the candidate.
