Photos of the unexpected guest at a Florida police station, who turned out to be a bear, were posted to Facebook.

In the caption, the department shared more about the incident. “An unexpected guest showed up at our office tonight at the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. The bear made its way through the parking area and camped a bit in a tree near our investigative department. FWC [Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission] Was informed and took command of the situation. After a short time, the bear went on its way peacefully,” he wrote.
“Recently there has been an increase in the number of bear sightings in our area. The FWC is urging everyone to take a moment and learn what to do if you see a bear. One of the biggest things you can do to prevent bear travel is to secure your litter boxes,” he said.
