Officials blamed the directive on a technical issue, the outlet reported, Quoting India Today.

Mumbai Police’s Joint Commissioner of Traffic Praveen Padwal told India Today on Tuesday that the company in charge of the sign informed them that “due to some technical glitch last night, a wrong message was flashing on the display”.

According to India Today, Padwal said that an employee of L&T company contacted IT to resolve the issue and the sign was disabled.
