In fact California residents are especially feeling the pinch with the state famous for the highest gas prices of all 50 US states. In fact, in June of this year, the state set a record when the average price for a gallon of gas reached $6.44, nearly three full dollars higher than the national average.

Types of Welfare in California
1. Calworks

2. Calfresh
CalFresh is essentially the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps, the welfare program rebranded to California.
The maximum monthly allocation for an individual is currently $250.
3. Medi-Cal
SNAP is California’s rebranded version of Medicaid, similar to Medi-Cal. The purpose of this program is to assist individuals and families who struggle financially to pay for a variety of medical services using a combination of federal and state tax funds.
