Who is eligible for these direct payments?
Only eligible recipients are as per the program Cook County Families that are making 250 percent or less of that federal poverty level. All applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Only one person for each family will be allowed to apply and receive these funds.
County residents who are already involved in Chicago’s Guaranteed Income Pilot Program, known as Chicago’s Resilient Community Pilot cannot participate in this program. Others who are not eligible are elected officials and county employees. Basically, families in dire need of financial assistance will be eligible for Program within Cook County.
Those who qualify are set to be chosen at random in a lottery. If they are selected, they should be notified by the middle of november, This notification will be sent to the people on the email address and/or mobile phone number provided in their application. As far as the first payment goes, it will not be sent later January 2023, People will have to apply online as the application is closed 21 October.
