A total of 350 candidates will get an opportunity to serve in ICG as Navik (Sailor) and Mechanic (Mechanic). Applicants will have to go through a selection process which will consist of written test, physical test and document verification of candidates. To get selected as a sailor or a mechanic in the Indian Coast Guard, candidates have to pass a three-stage examination.
Board has issued guidelines for the written examination for the candidates, all the candidates are required to bring a Indian Coast Guard Admit Card till the exam center. ICG Navik Admit Card And ICG Mechanical Admit Card will be issued on the website of the department itself, there will be no option to receive it from offline sources like registered post or get it from the department office.

Candidates will be called for written test in September-October 2021. The written test will be conducted in English language only and candidates will have to solve multiple choice type questions in the exam. The questions in the exam will be from subjects like Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English language. The level of the exam will be of class 12th and candidates will not find more difficult questions of graduation level.
