The official said that the ‘IS 17855: 2022’ has been prepared for Lithium-ion Traction Battery Pack and System for Electric Vehicles and it has been installed as per ISO 12405-4:2018.

New Delhi| The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has issued the required standards for the ‘performance’ of electric vehicle batteries keeping in mind the safety of the consumers. A senior official of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs gave this information on Thursday. He said that the BIS has issued the required standards for the performance of the batteries of electric vehicles.

The official said that the ‘IS 17855: 2022’ has been prepared for Lithium-ion Traction Battery Pack and System for Electric Vehicles and it has been installed as per ISO 12405-4:2018.

According to the official, the new parameters include the testing process for basic characteristics of performance, reliability and electrical performance for the battery pack and system.
