‘DC Karen’ banned from Uber after disturbing caught-on-camera racist tirade


An angry woman hurled racist slurs at her Uber driver on a D.C. street in a crazy, verbal attack caught on camera.

“I hire you. I am your master According to the footage, I’m your fucking boss,” the woman, dubbed as “DC Karen” by social media users, shouted at the Uber driver as they stood on a Cathedral Heights street.

“You’re a piece of s–t,” she tells him before saying the N-word six times in a row.

Undeterred Karen also called the Uber driver a “slave,” “schizophrenic” and “illiterate.”

The Uber driver responded by calling her a coward and a bitch.

The heartwarming brawl was caught in two separate videos, one of which residents of an apartment building on the street and by the other Uber driver himself.

The two appeared to be arguing over a phone charger, although the details are not entirely clear. The woman shouted several times that she asked the driver for a phone charger. When he suggests she call the police, she says, “If you can speak English my phone’s off!”

At one point during the altercation, the Uber driver warns the unidentified woman that she will be exposed online because of her video.

“Hey Karen, you’re going to be a racist woman all over the internet!” the Uber driver tells the woman at one point.

“Yes, I am now. Because I did nothing wrong,” she replies softly.

“I’m white and you’re not. That’s why you don’t like me. Because I read and write,” Karen said before walking off while yelling the N-word six times in a row.

After the video went viral, Uber announced that “DC Karen” had been banned from using the app.

“The behavior seen in the video is sickening and has no place anywhere on the Uber platform or in society,” an Uber spokesperson said in a statement to The Daily Beast.

The identity of either person has not been released.
