Kevin Spacey will testify sexual misconduct civil case brought against him by accuser Anthony Rapp in Manhattan federal court.
Spacey’s testimony was confirmed Monday morning by his attorney, Chase Skolnick, who detailed a timetable for the defendant’s case to Judge Lewis Kaplan.
It’s not clear exactly when the Oscar-winning actor will take the stand – but it could be as of Monday afternoon.
Rapp’s lawyers – who claim Spacey made unwanted sexual advances on him when he was a teenager – team up for his case Monday morning before the jury is called to court.
Before testimony resumed, Judge Kaplan agreed to dismiss one of the claims brought by Rapp, when one of Spacey’s attorneys argued that the entire case should be dismissed on the merits of the law. must be given.
Kaplan repeatedly charged with battery over Rapp’s claim of being a deliberate victim of emotional distress – and therefore could not proceed.
He reserved judgment on whether or not to dismiss the battery’s claim, now only one charge stands in the trial.
Rapp claims that after a party in his Manhattan apartment in 1986, a drunk Spacey picked him up and laid him on top. Rapp, an actor who appeared in “Rent,” was 14 at the time, and Spacey was 26.
In the suit, Rapp claims that Spacey touched her that night for sexual gratification.
Spacey has denied the allegations.
