An Iranian woman has been arrested for having breakfast at a restaurant without a scarf, amid ongoing protests for women’s rights in Iran.
Donya Rad and a friend went viral this week after pictures of them eating at an online cafe went viral. Like the coffee shops where the photo was taken, it is usually only guarded by men in a strict Islamic country.
“He was arrested after visiting the designated place, after a few hours with no news, Donya told me in a short call that he had been transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison,” said his sister. told CNN,
