Iran says US trying to violate sovereignty over unrest, warns of response


The US State Department said on Monday that the US attempt to violate Iran’s sovereignty over the issue of protests over the death of a woman in police custody will go unanswered.

Iran has been rocked by nationwide demonstrations after the death of 22-year-old Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini, when she was detained by ethics police for enforcing the Islamic Republic’s strict restrictions on women’s dress.
