‘God gave us two arms’ to get double shots

President Biden’s coronavirus-response coordinator has said Americans should get a flu shot as well as an annual COVID-19 vaccine – adding that “why God gave us two arms.”

Ashish Jha Told in a White House press briefing on Tuesday that the administration’s focus was “making vaccines a more regular part of our lives” with “annual protection.”

“The good news is that you can get both your flu shot and the COVID shot at the same time. It’s a really cool idea,” said Jha, who is also dean of the Brown University School of Public Health.

“I really believe that this is why God gave us two weapons – one for the flu shot and the other for the COVID shot.”

Jha stressed that the US has reached “an important milestone” with vaccines, which have long divided the country and led many to refuse to take them.

“For a large majority of Americans, we are getting to a point where a single annual COVID shot should provide a high level of protection against serious disease throughout the year,” he said, necessitating a shot every few months. Compared to.

Still, “individuals at the highest risk … may need more than annual protection,” he said, over the age of 80.

“The pandemic is not over,” he claimed, despite his earlier message that it would mostly be contained with an annual shot.

“We will remain vigilant, and of course, we will continue to seek and prepare for unexpected twists and turns.”
